Contains the following types of materials: photographs. Covers the following war: World War II (WWII). Contains photographs of the following military unit: 6th Port Unit. General description of the collection: The Harold C. Brown photograph collection consists of basically three albums, each showing personnel and scenes in the areas where Major Brown served as an Ordnance Corps officer. The two albums in box one concentrate on North Africa, Italy, and southern France. The small photos, in some cases, being well captioned. The large album in box two deals mostly with the 6th Port Unit clearing ports that were wrecked by the Germans. Major Brown was an ordnance officer of that unit. The loose photos in box two are mostly duplicates of what are in the albums. There is a set of loose photos which cover a conference of military officers and civilians at Southern Illinois University in 1966 that may have been sponsored by the National Security Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
